FILLED OF THINGS THAT WERE DONE IN FIRST 100 DAYS IN DENMARK (DAY 45)

DAY 45 – July 2, 2009

It’s my second day in the summer house. We are in the Borre, it is in the southern part of the Copenhagen. This part is a country place where you can see a lot of fields, whey and strawberry fields.

I began my day late. I woke up past 8am and gave Sebastian something to eat then took a shower. I didn’t know that we are going out…again… They didn’t tell me what will be the plan for the day so I can manage my time and I can prepare. That’s ok. I will be fine.

We went to the GeoCenter Mons Klint located right at the edge of the cliff. It is an interactive activity center where you can find and learn the birth of Denmark and how things are made up, from the pre-historic time up to the present. There’s also a 3D Movie entitled “SEA MONSTERS, A Prehistoric Adventure”. In this, the showed where fossils came from and how they become fossils. Though, I didn’t understand the narration but they have a good way of conveying the subject to kids. Like how they died and how people in our times discovered them. They have flashbacks to understand better the discovery of fossils.

After that, I was able to see the white chalk cliff in Mons Klint. We need to go down through the wood stairs to sea the beach and the cliff. It is approximately 500 steps down to the beach. At the top you will see the blue sea water and greenish wood. Quite tiring cos it is a long walk but I am excited what my eyes will see. When we reach the beach, I saw the marvelous site of the cliff. It is breath-taking view. You can actually see the beautiful view from the beach. Unfortunately, they always have landslide and soil erosion. Because the soil is made up of chalk so it is weak, when ocean hit the cliff, it suddenly collapses. In January 2007, the point Store Taler fell into the ocean and created a peninsula jutting more that 300 meters into the ocean. A collapse of such magnitude does not occur very often, whereas smaller collapses falling 30 or 50 meters into the water are not usual. The peninsula formed through cliff collapses are washed away by the waves of the oceans and the current. (According to Ministry of Environment).

We went home at past 3pm and had a nap and then we prepared for the dinner. But the playmate of Magnus invited us to have a dinner with them. They are very nice and they have a good food. I had an ice cream again..;)

MORAL LESSON: I learned the concept of “pakikisama”.
