FILLED OF THINGS THAT WERE DONE IN FIRST 100 DAYS IN DENMARK (DAY 13)

DAY 13 – May 31, 2009

It’s Sunday and the last day of May. I couldn’t believe that I am actually here for nearly 2 weeks and now June is coming, I remember that this is the beginning of school year in the Philippines.

I began my day with a prayer that God will give me strength and always comfort me in every situation I have.

I am not feeling well this morning. I have flu and some sore throat but as a commercial said Bawal Magkasakit…True..I shouldn’t be…

I went out to see Jess and while waiting for Apple I watched movie. Then, all of sudden they plan to go to the beach. Well, why not.

I brought my bike and tried if I can go out in the street but unfortunately I can’t. I am still afraid in the street with cars and bikes along.

We arrived at the beach around 6pm but the sun is still hot. We ate our dinner there and of course took some pictures. While Jess and Apple are busy taking some pictures, I went for a bike. I am so happy that I learned how o ride a bike. It’s an achievement for me. Though I have bruises and I feel pain in my hands, shoulders and legs. It’s a fulfillment. And off to go, I manage to ride a bike but in certain place only.

When I went home and watched Jessica Soho report in Pinoy Channel, I miss my family. I usually watch this tv program with them cos we love this program and also it is Lei’s first day of school. I wonder what she looks like and what she feels now that she is in grade school now. I will call them tomorrow.

MORAL LESSON: There’s no place like home.

DAY 12 – May 30, 2009

It’s a day of fun. Early in the morning about 10am I went to Jess place and she decided to go to Lyngby to get credit for her cellphone and also we bought some food for or dinner. I got the chance to see their “mall” and now that I had money, I got a chance to buy things I need.

It was a long walk! A bit tired but we still manage to have bike lesson. I don’t know how but I am determined. Eventually, I managed to ride the bike..woohoo! what an achievement!

Semplang!

yehey!

Afterwards, we really really tired and hungry so we prepare our foods. Jess cooked the “munggo with gata” and Apple did the bbq. It is very fun! The celebration…?? Well, we want eat…that’s all!

Gorgeous cook

Let's eat!

Cheers!

I think we were not yet tired. Around 8pm, we went to the park and took some pictures.

FILLED OF THINGS THAT WERE DONE IN FIRST 100 DAYS IN DENMARK (DAY 11)

DAY 11 – May 29, 2009

Early in then morning I and Sebastian went for a walk. I brought him in the park. It was my first time to go there alone. Few people were there this morning. While I’m there I called in the Pinas just to say hello with them. Suddenly, Sebastian fell asleep so we went home.

In the afternoon, they showed me my new bike. I don’t know how to ride this and maybe this is another challenge for me this week. Hope to learn it soon.

FILLED OF THINGS THAT WERE DONE IN FIRST 100 DAYS IN DENMARK (DAY 10)

DAY 10 – Dream..dream..dream..

May 28, 2009, we went to their summer house, northern part of the Charlottenlund. It is 1-hour drive from our place. It is the country side of Denmark. Greeny and refreshing view. It is a long drive but exciting because of the view. Just few minutes before we get there, we stopped just to look the beautiful view from top. It’s a beach near the forest!

The Beach

It was past 11am when we get there and the house is beautiful. I can’t stop to think to dream a house like that. A summer house for my family, in a quite place and near the beach. Perfect! I prayed that dream will remain in heart and to strive harder to reach that dream.

After some hours, we had a dinner. It is quite different for me because it is really Danish food. Black bread top with boiled potato and mayonnaise or with tuna spread and tomato-berry and cucumber. It is good and I’m trying to like them. Then, off to Children’s concert in City Hall. I didn’t understand a bit but it I really fun, seeing children singing, dancing and laughing and oh, I heard Doremi song from Sounds of Music in Danish Language…cool!

FILLED OF THINGS THAT WERE DONE IN FIRST 100 DAYS IN DENMARK (DAY 9)

DAY 9 – I am bored!

I am alone in the house cos they went out and I am bored. I can’t go out that much. I am not enrolled yet because I need to wait the yellow card. So, I am here and just surfing the internet. Apparently, I watched the performance of Charice Pempengco in Pinoy Channel (http://www.pinoychannel.tv/watch/v-144433?title=CHARICE%20-%20INCREDIBLE%20FILIPINA) .Well, I did when I was in the Phils but when I watched it again. I can say that I am proud to be a Filipino. She’s so good and very talented girl. I AM PROUD TO BE PINAY!

Also, I watched the I-witness dated May 18, 2009 entitled “Akyat Manggis”. It is the tallest tree in the Southeast Asia. This is in Palawan and the Palawan natives called it Ginoo or Diyos. It is where the most beautiful birds nest. I was deeply saddened that the native of Palawan will climb that tall tree just to have food for the day. A life that cost P50. http://www.pinoychannel.tv/watch/v-142928?title=I-WITNESS%200518

But I have to admit I envied Kara for taking that challenge..:( Kailan kaya ako makakaakyat ng bundok ulit..:((

MORAL LESSON: Strive harder!

FILLED OF THINGS THAT WERE DONE IN FIRST 100 DAYS IN DENMARK (DAY 8)

DAY 8 – May 26, 2009. I got the Danish Personal Identification number (Danish: CPR-nummer or personnummer) is a national identification number, which is part of the personal information stored in the Civil Registration System. I will then receive the CPR-number by mail within appr. seven days. In short I am a legal residence now here (hindi na ako alien..hahaha). Before that we sent money in the Phils through their account cos I still don’t have the ID and did some groceries.

We came home by 2pm and then rest and played with Sebastian. This day is also a red day! And it was so annoying and frustrating. Nevertheless, I did it all.

MORAL LESSON: Live each day to the fullest.

FILLED OF THINGS THAT WERE DONE IN FIRST 100 DAYS IN DENMARK (DAY 7)

DAY 7 – May 25, 2009, I woke up late cos I stayed late last night and I didn’t know that my sister was online. We chat for just an hour and we went to Foreign Service department to get my residence permit. And I am now legally residing in Denmark..;) My nationality was there, different races. Their goal is to get the permit also in Denmark. I met a Filipina who is now heading to Norway. Afterwards, we ate croissant and had some coffee.

There’s an interesting place around Copenhagen which really amused me. Thanks Tina for this. It is the Assistens Cemetery or it is sometimes called as Nørrebro Cemetery. It is founded in 1757 (inaugurated 1760) and located in the Nørrebro section of Copenhagen, Denmark and is a popular place for people to take a stroll, look at the old graves and monuments, and to have a picnic. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assistens_Cemetery_(Copenhagen)

And I recognized two prominent Danish people.

Hans Christian Andersen, also known as simply H. C. Andersen (April 2, 1805August 4, 1875) was a Danish author and poet, most famous for his fairy tales. Among his best-known stories are "The Steadfast Tin Soldier", "The Snow Queen", "The Little Mermaid", "Thumbelina", "The Little Match Girl", "The Ugly Duckling" and "The Red Shoes".

Niels Henrik David Bohr (7 October 1885 – 18 November 1962) was a Danish physicist who made fundamental contributions to understanding atomic structure and quantum mechanics, for which he received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922.

After that, we picked up the children and off to go to the beach. Well, it’s freezing but I tried it. Though I am a beach bum but I don’t have the guts to dip into the water. There’s nothing compare with the beach in the Philippines but it’s another experience.

This day is another day for me. I accomplished things, I learned so many things and I experience so many things.

MORAL LESSON: Learning is a process.

FILLED OF THINGS THAT WERE DONE IN FIRST 100 DAYS IN DENMARK (DAY 6)

DAY 6 – It’s Sunday! It’s kinda different day for me. Usually I’m in the church but now I need to work. I wasn’t able to find right church but I pray that it will come soon. After my work I went to Jess and watched uploaded video from Pinoy Central and the big news the Katrina Halili and Hayde Kho Scandal..hahaha..Deji called for the first time in my number..well…

We went for a walk and decided to go to the park. It’s a little bit frustrating cos I didn’t know how to ride a bike and I know its a little hassle to them. So I decided to learn that thing and I promise I’ll make it good..;)

The park is so nice. I saw apple tree (that’s the first time) and big ground, flowers, cool forest and a beautiful lake.

FILLED OF THINGS THAT WERE DONE IN FIRST 100 DAYS IN DENMARK (DAY 5)

DAY 5 – May 23, 2009, it’s my rest day! I got up early hoping that Lei will get online but it’s so sad she didn’t make it. So I went to Jess early morning and decided to go to Lyngby. It’s like a mall, where you can buy lot of things. The gadgets are so cheap and also the perfume. I remember my mom she likes it and I promised to buy one for her. I can’ wait to send package to them. I know they will like it. Apple bought a Nike bag and a water boiler and then ate lunch at Apple’s place. Had chat with their friends then went home. Mette, Jess home host, is very nice. They need to attend a party and then offered if I like to have dinner with Jess. She cooked pasta for us. I played with Ida, very cute girl.

MORAL LESSON: What you sow, you reap.

FILLED OF THINGS THAT WERE DONE IN FIRST 100 DAYS IN DENMARK (DAY 4)

DAY 4 – May 22, 2009 It’s Magnus Birthday Party. It was held in Thai Restaurant in Copenhagen. The food is nice. There’s calamares, tempura, dimsum and rice. I was able to taste their ice cream. We also played in the park with the kids. We also tried to go to the palace, Den Konngelige Livgarde but unfortunately, we are not allowed so, we decided to go home.

After that, I decided to go to Jess’ place with Apple. They had a plan to go to a picnic in the park but it was raining. So, we decided to cook and eat inside. With strong faith, we went out and took some pictures suddenly rain came so we ran towards Jess house and when we got there we noticed that there’s hailstones and it was my first time! I can’t believe it so I took some pictures and afterwards I went home and took my rest.

MORAL LESSON: Expect the unexpected!

FILLED OF THINGS THAT WERE DONE IN FIRST 100 DAYS IN DENMARK (DAY 3)

DAY 3 – I miss them!

May 21, 2009 – It’s a holiday here in Denmark, Ascension Day. Still my rest day and I want to spend it here inside the room. To regain strength, well, I feel so drain. I don’t know why but it helps. I stayed in from of my laptop and try to chat with my family. I had a chance to talk to them over the yahoo and am really miss them. Kariella was crying but I need to comfort her that everything is ok and I can take her here.

I began chatting to my friends, asking if I am ok and what I am doing. It’s really good to her from them again. Hope to talk to them again.

I got my schedule. Hopefully all things will be nice and easy and I’ll try to have my self back to school when the holiday is over.

I went out for a walk. It’s a long walk actually. Trying to get some fresh air. But I just stayed here inside of my room. Resting and relaxing, I know days from now I’ll face a new challenge.

MORAL LESSON: Be courage enough to be a human.

FILLED OF THINGS THAT WERE DONE IN FIRST 100 DAYS IN DENMARK (DAY2)

DAY 2 --- “I will be with you...” Exodus 3:12

May 20, 2009, My 2nd day here in strange but nice country. I began to think what’s the real purpose of my stay here. What I know is that God bless me to travel and to work and to study but after that I feel a bit of lonely and sadness. Should I really need to undergo this before I attain my purpose? There’s many questions inside my mind right know. I don’t know how He will answer that.

Until now I haven’t called my parents and my friends. I still don’t have sim card and until now I don’t know what the problem of my laptop is. I am connected in the internet but I can’t browse maybe because I have invalid IP but I don’t where I will get my IP address.

Things are not in-line of what I planned but He is still good and He will remain faithful in His words. He said His words to me: “I will be with you...” Exodus 3:12
And Indeed I know He will be. I am comforted and my heart restored again as He said hs word.
MORAL LESSON: Be humble but be confident…

I am really frustrated. I can’t get online still don’t have sim card. They keep on texting me and I cant reply. I know they are worried about me. But what can I do? Really am..:(

12:17pm—walang magawa!! Pangit ng pagkain. Walang lasa. Puro bread. Puro keso..hahaha..

Thank God I had my connection. From then on, I send emails to my friends and talking to me thru chat. Afterwards, I went to Jess. We had dinner in her place and helped her moving her things to another room.

Freezing morning..during my walk along the street..

FILLED OF THINGS THAT WERE DONE IN FIRST 100 DAYS IN DENMARK (DAY 1)

DAY 1 --- Miles away

May 19, 2009 -- I arrived at 7:35am here in Denmark. Quite tiring because of the long hour travel from Manila to Copenhagen. Just a bit of background, I traveled for 6,729 miles. From Manila to Bangkok it’s 1359 miles and Bangkok to Copenhagen it’s 5367 miles. That was a sad moment for me. Leaving my family and seeing them crying esp. Lei but I need to be strong this what I wanted and this what I need to do. So, I left my emotional weakness in the Philippines and find my new strength here in Denmark with the help of God. May 18, 2009, I boarded on the airplane at 8:31pm going to Bangkok and got there around 10pm with Juvilyn, my new found friend. She is so young and also working here. I’m boarding on the Thai Airways, I find it nice. They were nice and approachable. We had our dinner there and then get some sleep. It was a 2-hour flight and I am now on my dream destination Thailand. Yes, I really want to go there. I want to try the exotic cuisine and ride on the elephant. Well, I’ve been there but only on the airport. Juvilyn and I waited for almost 4 hours for our connecting flight heading to Copenhagen. So I checked if I can get log on yahoo unfortunately, there’ a problem in my connection. I was frustrated because I want to say hi to everyone and checked my e-mails. I lost hope so I turned it off. Off the board to our airplane to our main destination Denmark. It was a long trip. It took more than 12 hours! All I can do is to sleep and eat. Imagine that for 12 hours and I can’t talk to someone to share all inside my minds. I feel so lonely. But I was stunned when I saw Denmark in aerial view. Far different from the Philippines. No tall buildings, all lands and houses and sea. When I got off board It was cold. I was freezing. They said It is summer but imagine 11 degrees Celsius and it’s summer! I saw Jessica and I met Tina for the first time. She was so nice. Well, I don’t know how to interact with them. I know they have their culture and different language that I don’t understand! I’m like an alien. Well, I am. Hahaha..

When we got home, she toured me around the house and in my roomShe showed me some stuff and had walked around he neighbors, do some shopping and watched little Sebastian when she fetch the children.

I am now in another place. I am now a foreigner. This is new for me. All is new. The place, people and work. I hate changes. But I need to embrace that concept. I hate new. But I need to get over that.

I am far away from my family, from my comfort-zone and do all this things alone. Yes, Jessica is here. But not always. I need to be tough and learn things bit by bit.

I am trying to relax now and fix my stuff. I want to get online and call my parents but unfortunately I don’t have access yet. Hopefully, communication will be ok.

MORAL LESSON: I trust the One who created me.

Angels and Demons is one of my fave book. I was stunned by the vivid description of Dan Brown. You will actually felt that you are "in" the story. Plus the fact, I am amused in Ambigram, very creative. I had an Ambigram Henna tattoo on my arm last December. And I am excited that I can watch it on May 15, on my birthday. Such a birthday treat! ;)
