Night of Culture ‘09

October 9, 2009 --- It’s 17th year of biggest cultural festival event of the year. Cultural institutions in Copenhagen and Fredericksberg were open until 12 midnight.

In this event, you have to buy the Culture Kit, it includes the culture pass, printed program, Byens Net Guide and Culture ticket valid after the Night of Culture until 31 December 2009. This pass entitles you to free admission to all events on the Night of Culture and free transport by train, metro and bus in Copenhagen are from 5:00 pm until 2:00 am. It costs DKK 85.00

There were over 200 institutions open and it is impossible to visit all of them in one night. So, we just chose some interesting place.

Carlsberg Visitors’ Center

This is the former brewery and current Honorary Residence. There are interesting and shocking statues inside. The Carlsberg place itself is really big. Its 10.000 m2 exhibition centre is located at the original Carlsberg Brewery founded by J.C. Jacobsen. But unfortunately, we can only visit the Visitor’s Center. I want to visit this place again…

Royal Life Guards

We entered into the Royal Guard Museum. It is the collection of development of Royal Danish Life Guards from uniforms to the equipments and arms. We also saw tanks and military transportation and we were able to hop in and took some pictures inside.

Post & Tele Museum

The Post & Tele Museum is Denmark's national museum of post and telecommunications. The Post & Tele Museum is the depository of Denmark's national collections in the field of post and telecommunications and houses the largest stamp collection in Denmark and the country's most important special subject library.

We weren’t able to go around and see what’s inside but we were able to sent post cards to the Philippines. I sent postcards to my parents, MI team and Ginber. Hintayin nyo lang ha, sana dumating.

Outside the Post and Tele Musuem

We walked on Strøget, the longest walking street in Europe. The ambience is so festive. And because it is festival, we saw roasted pig. Yes, lechong baboy na walang balat!

HOPENHAGEN '09

Also, an underwear fashion show...

Copenhagen City hall square

Copenhagen is recognized as one of the most environmentally friendly cities in the world. And they asked signatures and light a candle to demonstrate your adherence on their Climate Plan on the 15 years. Because of the global warming that’s happening around the world esp in the Philippines, I think we need to step up and help to save our world.
